About Christine Everley

- There are many reasons why people choose to see me for private counselling.
- It doesn’t have to be a big problem, anything that matters to you or you would like to discuss can be shared.
- I genuinely believe that talking things through can really help.
- Most people at some time in their lives experience difficulties or problems and feel things just aren’t as they hoped they would be.
- It is often difficult to speak to those closest to you.
- Family and friends may have their own views about your concerns and find it difficult to accept your perspective.
Counselling offers a safe, confidential place to talk about your life and anything that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable. It allows you to talk with someone who is trained to listen attentively and to help you improve things. You will not be judged or given advice. Counselling is about helping you to develop insights into your problems and finding your own resources and strengths. It is about helping you to make your own choices and decisions and to take responsibility for your own life.
My training, work experience and any achievement
								                                - I am an accredited counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
- I use a combination of person centred counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy.
- Cognitive behavioural therapy is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave.
- My continued professional development covers many areas including; depression or unhappiness, anxiety, panic, self-esteem, relationship counselling, anger management, exam stress, young people, eating distress and bereavement.
- I have a particular interest in working with people who have a chaotic relationship with food and are struggling with weight, regardless of age.
- I have previously worked for the NHS as a counsellor at GP surgeries and I worked with Macmillan to set up a support group for cancer patients.
- I also spent many years volunteering for Link Youth Counselling. Further Information
